How It Works
Every Wednesday, June 8th to November 2nd, the Farm at Miller’s Crossing will deliver our produce to Hour Children Food Pantry (36-49 11th Street, Long Island City, NY 11106)). Please click here to see the farm’s crop schedule.
What your share includes depends on what is ripe that week, ensuring that you receive the freshest produce available. You can choose to receive a full share, which feeds 3-4 people, or a half share which feeds 1-2 people. (A list of sample shares from our 2009 season is available here)
If you are interested in becoming a member or would like to request additional information, click here. As a member, you can be sure that your share will consist of fresh, seasonal, organic produce that is grown right here in New York State!
What Membership Involves
By becoming a member, you are committing to purchase a share from the farmer each week through the entire season. Your membership is an investment in the Farm at Miller’s Crossing, in your community, and in your health. You cannot quit the program, as your vegetables have already begun growing. Shares that are not picked up will be donated to local emergency food providers.
Members help run the CSA by volunteering four hours per season. In addition to the many benefits of membership, members have the unique opportunity to get to know their neighbors through free cooking workshops, trips to the farm, and community potlucks.
